Originally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and received professional dance training in Singapore, Yi Qing was invited to be a guest artist with Lee Wushu Art Theatre (MY) in 2007 and later danced with Frontier Danceland (SG) as well as founding member of Re: Dance Theatre (SG) in 2008 and 2012 respectively. During her time in both companies she was training master for Frontier Danceland’s PULSE programme 2011/2012 as well as Re: Dance Theatre 2 (RDT2). She is currently base in Berlin and an independent movement practitioner in improvisation and contact improvisation. She has facilitated workshops since 2015 in Malaysia, Singapore and Poland. Besides continuing her research, she is also an active performer and dance educator.
